100 LGBTQ+ Gamechangers Launched

Top 100 2022LGBT Great has today launched the Top 100 Gamechangers 2022 programme in partnership with Citi, a global bank with 200 million customers that does business in more than 160 countries. The initiative marks the start of global Pride month and spotlights LGBT+ people who are helping to change the game for equality within financial services.

To achieve a place in the Top 100 Gamechangers 2022, each person has had to demonstrate consistent involvement in diversity, equity and inclusion work, evidence their notable contributions and achievements, and demonstrate how they have inspired others. Each nomination passed an extensive judging process to secure a place on the final list.

The launch of the Top 100 Gamechangers 2022 comes at the start of global Pride month and at a time when LGBT+ rights are being threatened in many places across the world. With the recent controversies around conversion therapy protections not being extended to trans people in the UK, and the record number of anti-LGBT+ bills, this Pride, LGBT Great has called on the global financial services community to do more. The Top 100 Gamechangers program spotlights 100 people that are doing moremore for the community, more for their organisations, more for their colleagues.

With COVID-19 impacting Pride celebrations and events the world over throughout 2020 and 2021, the Top 100 Gamechangers 2022 is a call to action to increase the visibility of LGBT+ people in financial services. A recent survey by Gallup, a US-based analytics and advisory company, revealed that 21% of Generation Z identify as LGBT+, and the corporate world is scrambling to improve its approach to the inclusion of all members of the community.

The Top 100 Gamechangers 2022 is sponsored by Citi, who LGBT Great has identified as an organisation leading the way in LGBT+ equality across financial services. Both organisations have agreed to an ambitious programme of global activities post-Pride to support the financial services industry in further improving its approach to LGBT+ equality.

The Top 100 Gamechangers 2022 is revealed online today, and all one hundred will be invited to LGBT Great’s Pride event in Soho, London on Saturday 2nd July. The purpose of the event is to bring the community together after two years of no in-person Pride event and raise contributions for LGBT Great’s LGBT+ Charities Fund. LGBT Great is offering an exclusive number of guest tickets to the event and can apply for tickets here.
