About
Bio: Iain Joined St. James's Place in 2007. And became Joint Chief Operating Officer at the beginning of 2016. After joining as Deputy Finance Director, Iain became Commercial Director in 2012, responsible for business planning and developing the 2020 strategy. In 2016, Iain was appointed Joint Chief Operating Officer responsible for key relationships with SJP's largest businesses, Marketing functions, the company business plan and developing strategic initiatives as well as the HR and Learning & Development functions. Iain qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young and, prior to St. James's Place, worked for Pentland (the sportswear group), ITV and Prudential.
Iain is a member of the inclusion and diversity council and also the firm's executive sponsor for the LGBT+ agenda. His leadership shines through the work that he does to help increase awareness and support for the LGBT+ community. In 2019, he played a central role in the firm marking Pride which included the installation of the Pride flag outside the firm's headquarters. Iain has also encourages others to support LGBT Great's Project 1000 role models initiative and a number of employees are engaged in different locations across the firm.
He comments: "I am delighted to feature in LGBT Great's allyship Pride campaign as an executive ally to the LGBT+ community here at SJP and the industry more broadly. Allyship is important for creating a sense of openness and freedom to be your true self at work; this is the culture we want to create at SJP for all of our people, our clients and our investors. Developing allyship between employees of all diversities is critical in the modern world work and a principle I believe profoundly in."
