About
Bio: Jim is the manager of the Group External Reporting team for Legal & General Group, with responsibility for producing published financial information, including the annual report and accounts, analyst packs, and regulatory submissions.
Originally from Glasgow, Jim is a qualified accountant, and a Bachelor of Accountancy from Glasgow University. He has worked in financial services for most of his career, including time in an offshore environment with a still developing level of openness in its society. He saw the often damaging consequences that can result from people being afraid to live their lives authentically and openly.
Having worked for L&G for 13 years in a variety of roles, he's firmly committed to L&G's culture and values, which encourage people to bring their whole selves to work. He says "If you're holding something back from your personality, you're also holding something back from your ability to thrive and grow in your career".
He's a co-chair of L&GBT, the group's LGBT+ and allies network, and is a member of the Group Functions Diversity and Inclusion working group, which drives inclusivity on a day to day basis. He was named as the Group Finance Individual Role Model of the Year in 2018.
