Bio: Daniel Docherty is a vice president and Business Support Manager within Global Real Estate Services at Bank of America Merrill Lynch covering Europe and the Emerging Markets (ex-Asia).

Since joining the company as an Accounts Payable assistant in 2001, Docherty has performed several roles. In his current position he provides functional support and oversight across day-to-day operations, reporting, database and financial management, budgets, change/project management, vendor management support and business continuity. He is also responsible for the compliance management of 500+ vendor staff ensuring that the appropriate risk mitigation controls are in place.

In addition to the above Daniel has been involved in LGBT+ efforts since joining Bank of America at 18. He helped form the UK LGBT Pride network, co-designed the award winning global Ally program, champions intersectionalty and was instrumental in advising on the roll-out of the bank's transgender benefits. He currently serves as lead of the companies LGBT+ Ally program, Transgender Rep, Mentor and Reverse Mentor as well as sitting on the Interbank Council. Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Ally program connects the 25,000+ LGBT+/Allies globally across 30 countries and 980 cities. This creates global connections, engagement in locations not as progressive and aids the creation of a truly diverse and inclusive environment. Daniel is a regular speaker on panels, volunteer at LGBT recruitment events. In 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 he was included in the FTOUTstanding list as a Top 50 LGBT Future Leader. He sits on the Interbank LGBT Forum, Out Leadership Committee and as is part of the RAHM and OutNEXT Alumni.

Docherty believes everyone should be able to bring their whole selves to work to ensure they not only survive but also thrive. He is a regular volunteer for various charitable causes. He has a passion for travel, diversity and inclusion issues, dyslexia, holistic wellbeing, reiki, theatre, arts and cinema.
