About
Bio: Matthias is a Managing Legal Counsel at T. Rowe Price, based in Luxembourg. He is responsible for all matters concerning the Luxembourg fund range of the T. Rowe Price Group as well as the European separate account mandates and related corporate matters and is also the main contact person for German, Swiss and Austrian legal matters.
After graduating from the universities of Cologne and Paris, Matthias passed both bar exams in Germany and started his career as a lawyer specialized in Mergers & Acquisitions in a German law firm. He was involved in national and international mergers and negotiations of the corresponding agreements. His desire to have more exposure to international matters relating to investment funds brought him to Luxembourg where he worked for more than 2.5 years in a leading law firm in the fund structuring team before joining T. Rowe Price as an in-house lawyer. The decision to join T. Rowe Price was driven by the interest in being involved in the entire lifecycle of funds and the day-to-day challenges of management companies and investment funds in an international environment.
Matthias has been involved in the firm-wide LGBTQ+ focused business resource group, PRIDE @ T. Rowe Price, since he joined the firm in 2019, and since 1 January 2022, he has been one of the co-chairs of the EMEA chapter of this group. He engages also with external organisations and is an active member of the LGBTQ + communities in Luxembourg.
He comments: “As we say in Luxembourg ‘Let’s make it happen’ and that is exactly what I want to do to support and advance LGBTQ+ matters.”
