Raymond Cyr
Vice President, Global Controllers, Service Delivery Operations at Brown Brothers Harriman
About
Bio: Raymond is a 20-year veteran and Vice President of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (BBH) and has worked in the Finance division in Core Statutory and Business Line Controller roles. He is the Global Co-Chair of the BBH Pride Network, co-leading a team of professionals that have built an impactful employee and business resource group, which supports BBH’s efforts to create a diverse and inclusive workplace.
When Raymond started his career, there were very few Pride Networks in the Financial Services industry, and a very limited awareness of LGBTQ+ people in the workplace. Raymond sensed back in 2012 that his company was ready to evolve and commit to creating an inclusive workplace that respects and honors complex identities.
Raymond comments:
"How far we have come from those early days, thanks to our partnerships with LGBT Great, peer company Pride Networks, and other organizations that have supported the movement to envision, and make into reality, workplaces where we as LGBTQ+ people not only feel included but where we belong. The work that LGBT Great is doing is so important for the generations of LGBTQ+ people who are coming up behind us."
Raymond is a graduate of the University of Connecticut (BA), Brooklyn College, City University of New York (MA) and Northeastern University (MBA) and founding board member Rational Games, a non-profit that uses playful methods to teach negotiation, in order to support initiatives and individuals that make creative use of games and play to resolve conflict and believes the human urge to play is greater than the urge to fight.
