As a volunteer with the Future Leaders Network, Shannon actively champion the advancement of women in banking and finance by leading initiatives that foster mentorship, leadership development, and gender equity. She has helped establish a mentoring program that has connected over 105 emerging women leaders with senior executives in the industry, resulting in a 25% increase in mentees being promoted within two years and also organizes workshops and panel discussions that address barriers women face in the financial sector, with over 80% of participants reporting greater confidence in pursuing leadership roles after attending. In collaboration with leadership, Shannon has advocated for measurable DE&I goals, which have led to a 15% increase in female representation in mid-management roles across partner organizations. Additionally, Shannon works to raise awareness around unconscious bias and gender equity, with 90% of our network’s members completing targeted training programs. Through these efforts, we aim to create a pipeline of empowered, diverse women leaders who will shape the future of the banking and finance industry.
Shannon Comments
"As a proud 1000 Allies role model, what I am most proud of is the ability to bring my authentic self to work each day, paving the way for others to do the same. For me, allyship and inclusion aren’t just corporate pillars to achieve—they are daily practices. By openly living my values and supporting others, I demonstrate that authenticity and diversity are integral to a thriving work environment. I believe inclusion happens in the everyday moments—when we actively listen, amplify underrepresented voices, and create space for everyone to feel valued. By being unapologetically myself, I aim to break down barriers and show others that it’s possible to succeed without compromising who you are. My role as an ally is not just about advocating for diversity from the sidelines but about actively embodying inclusion through my words and actions. This, I hope, empowers others to embrace their full selves and fosters a culture where inclusion is a way of life, not just a target to achieve."
