About
Bio: Giscard is a young and dynamic data privacy professional, possessing the duality of legal and operational data privacy experience. After being a trainee lawyer, he ventured into consulting, specialising in Cyber Risk and Privacy at Deloitte. Currently, Giscard serves in-house as part of the data privacy team at CVC, a world leader in private equity and investment. Day to day, Giscard supports a variety of lines of business, stakeholders, and regions with privacy related compliance, best practices, and activities.
In 2022, Giscard was honoured as one of the Top 200 Young South Africans, a prestigious accolade that highlights his contributions to both his professional field and his community.
A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, he is also a member of CVC’s Global Pride Network and runs the local Africa chapter, which was established in 2024. Through the Network, he is able to play a key role in fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ members across the firm, including Allies.
Through his continued work and advocacy, Giscard aspires to create a future where diversity is celebrated, and everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

I mentor a large number of law students and young professionals who need career guidance and/or are interested in my field of work. I always strive to take time out of my busy work schedule and give back to those that require mentorship. As someone who loves teaching, mentorship comes naturally to me. It makes me feel fulfilled in my work to be able to provide perspectives to people who feel lost and have no one to talk to. I know the feeling as I have been there once. Being out and a person of colour has also presented a lot of challenges in my journey. However, I refuse to be a victim of my circumstances and strive instead to inspire hope to many like me.
