Sue Claridge
Associate Director, CPO Risk at Fidelity International
About
Bio: Sue is an Operational Risk Manager for the HR Function at Fidelity International having been with the firm for nearly 6 years. As a mother to a son who identifies as gay, Sue is a passionate Ally and leads the UK region LGBT+ strand alongside a group of enthusiastic, like-minded individuals striving to ensure an open and inclusive work environment where everyone can be their genuine selves at work.
Sue has spoken both internally and externally on being an LGBT+ Parent and the unique challenges this holds and has set up an LGBT+ Parent strand within Fidelity’s Working Family Network for discussion and support of other parents in the same situation.
As joint Lead of the UK LGBT+ Network, Sue has raised awareness around LGBT+ issues and celebrated days in the LGBT+ calendar. As with all walks of life, financial services people need to be able to be their true authentic selves at work. It is especially important in a field of work not necessarily seen as LGBT+ friendly and accepting.
Sue Comments:
Being a role model is vital for promoting support and understanding for everyone, being seen, and understood is the first step in creating a truly inclusive world, and I am proud to be able to be seen as this across Fidelity and the wider industry.
