Bio: Seamus Kearney Martone works for Northern Trust Ireland and is based in their Dublin office. He is a Vice President and Project Manager within the Alternatives / Hedge Fund Services group. He has over 15+ years industry experience in various roles across the Financial Services. Within his company, Seamus proudly chaired the Northern Trust Pride Ireland network for three years (2017-2019) and represented his company as co-Chair of FuSIoN Ireland, a cross-company network which works collaboratively with members across financial services in Ireland on LGBTQ+ best practice initiatives.

External to his role, Seamus is a representative of 1) Irish Gay Dads - Spokesperson and Committee Representative, 2) Equality for Children - Volunteer Lead and 3) an Assisted Human Reproduction Coalition - Steering Committee. He is involved in advocating for all Assisted Human Reproductive means (IVF, reciprocal IVF, surrogacy, etc.) to be protected under Irish Law, with a particular interest in International Surrogacy, which currently has no legislative framework in Ireland. As part of this, Seamus has met with several Irish Government Ministers, including Government Ministers of 1) Health, 2) Children and 3) Justice. He has participated in the recording of documentaries on International Surrogacy, as well as speaking publicly about the current state of play for members of the LGBTQ+ community in Ireland.

Seamus is an openly gay man and values all areas of diversity and inclusion. Having grown up in rural Ireland and relocated to Dublin for university and work, Seamus has seen attitudes change in Ireland, specifically with regard to LGBTQ+ inclusion.
In his personal life, Seamus and his husband adopted a baby girl from the U.S.A. His daughter was born in August 2021, and she is a much loved and fun filled toddler. Seamus openly discusses his experience with Intercountry Adoption with members of the LGBTQ+ and wider communities.

For three consecutive years (2019-2021), Seamus was featured on the OUTstanding LGBTQ+ Future Leader list. He was also nominated for a GALAS LGBTQ+ Role Model Award and is a trained Stonewall LGBTQ+ Role Model.
