Lauren Degney

About
Bio: Based in London, Lauren Degney is part of Citi’s Prime finance effort in EMEA. Prior to moving to London Lauren ran Citi’s Delta One, SBL and Equity Finance Distribution effort for APAC. Lauren has over a decade of experience across distribution and sales trading in Delta One, SBL and Equity Finance as well buy side business development in APAC.
Prior to joining Citi Lauren headed up Deutsche Bank’s Low Touch Execution and Portfolio Solutions Group for APAC.
Lauren has an MBA and Masters of Management from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia.
Lauren is dedicated to furthering the diversity and inclusion agenda in the financial services industry. Lauren is part of the Citi EMEA MSS Talent Diversity and Inclusion Board and during her time with Citi in APAC she was an inaugurating member of the Maternity Mentors and Women in Leadership Talent Development programs. She is part of developing Citi’s pilot Mindful Maternity and Women’s leadership programs for MSS in EMEA.
In her prior role Lauren was head of the DB Pride Network and Co Head of the DB Families Network roles in which she was responsible for inaugurating networks, establishing and driving strategies for success and implementing market leading programs focused on enabling change and progress in developing diverse high performing cultures including partnerships with social enterprises and capacity building with high impact organisations progressing the diversity and inclusion agendas.
As part of broader industry initiatives supporting diversity and inclusion in APAC Lauren was a founding member of the WIFA board and a member of the Women in ETF’s board. She also drove financial industry leadership at the inaugural Economist and Pride Event in APAC, Intelligence Squared Events diving industry debate around the “Diversity Dividend” and Pink Dot events in Hong Kong and Singapore furthering the connection of the LGBTQ+ community with a very traditional cultures. She was also part of the inaugural WFA APAC event that focused on connecting North American Financial industry female trail blazers with APAC thought leaders across a number of technical and philanthropic disciplines including work with HAGAR International and SHE Objects project team who delivered a ground breaking documentary about the issues facing women in North Asian cultures including human trafficking and objectification.
